We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.
The Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home was incorporated in 1913 as a strorefront at 76th & Halsted Street in Chicago, Illinois. At the time, this was one few stand alone funeral homes of its kind, and was to be the first of many to come bearing the "Sheehy" name.
The founder Roger Sheehy Sr. was soon joined in business by his three sons; Roger Jr., Jack, and Bob. The four provided a personal service that became a foundation for success. This trademark of service is evident a century later as Bob & Jim Sheehy (third generation) own and operate two locations in Orland Park and Burbank.
As a family owned and operated funeral home, the Sheehys' believe the one thing that separates them from the others is the personal service they can provide. The "name on our sign" outside the funeral home should mean something. Both Bob and Jim live, work, and are involved with countless charitable/fraternal organizations within their communities. For them it is very important that everyone be treated as if they were family, friend or neighbor... as they very well could be. The current staff consists of five licensed funeral directors with over 70 years of experience. On a daily basis each of these individuals take great pride in their work, serving families as if they were their own. Making sure every request, detail and question is carried out to each family's satisfaction. The extension of the staff consists of secretaries, wake duty attendants and chauffeurs who have been with our firm for many years. Bob and are Jim proud of the many unsolicited comments we have received from families about the care they receive before, during and after the funeral.
